Friendship project
We have been working at a project looking at the qualities of friendship, looking at our feelings of belonging or not belonging to particular groups. Through this project we also looked about how friendship can help with peace and how the qualities of friendship could make our world more harmonious.
FaceTime session
While Mr Cook was visiting Mohammad Shamel School we held a FaceTime session between the two schools. It was great to see the two schools chatting and asking questions to each other.

Through this project the children gained a further introduction and embedding of each other’s cultural heritage.
The students researched about traditional dances and music around the world and the meaning behind them, exploring their cultural heritage. After this each school focused on their partner school’s traditional dance and learnt the history behind it.

Dice Game
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cJMKxHPGffo&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DcJMKxHPGffo
In this game the numbers 1 to 6 are chalked on the playground. After a count of 3 the children all run to one of
numbers, the dice is then rolled any children at the number in lands on are out. Repeat until only 1 child left they
are the winner.
Splat game
Next part of the project is to recommend games played in each country, our first game is
SPLAT
All but one of the children stood in a circle with the remaing person in the middle. The person in the middle would fire an imaginary splat gun at someone and shout SPLAT! The recipient of the 'splat!' had to immediately duck and the two people either side would have to turn and 'splat' at each other. The loser of the duel was out and sat down, the person splatted from the middle would re-stand and the game would continue with one less participant. The game continues round by round with someone eliminated each time (unless the 'splat' duel was considered a draw), with the duels being between the two nearest standing people either side of the victim.
When only two people remain they stand back to back and a key word is agreed, for example 'fox!' A series of words are called out and the duelists take one step each time,
'box!' (step), 'rocks!' (step) until the keyword is called and the duelists spin round and fire a splat! The fastest is the winner.
